About PMA
Prairie Music Association is a non-profit Iowa
corporation serving the music programs of the College Community School
District in Linn and Johnson counties. PMA provides volunteer and
financial support to both vocal and instrumental programs in grades
K-12 throughout the district. No other music booster organization in
the state supports all grades throughout an entire school district.
PMA provides support for a broad range of educational endeavors within
the District's music programs. Our efforts equip students with
uniforms, props, workshops, music lessons, instruments, music and
varied performance opportunities.
We currently host one major educational event each fall. "Bands Across
the Prairie" brings marching bands from throughout Iowa together for an
opportunity to workshop performances in a way that is unique for large
group performance.
Residents of the College Community School District are cordially
invited to attend PMA meetings and, if interested, to place their name
in nomination for the board. Elections take place in May for the
following school year. Meeting dates and times are published annually
on the District calendar and updated on this site during the school
year as changes are required.
